Hi, The problem is on my Dodge Caravan 2006. It is a new car for me that I bought about 4 months ago. I beleive that the remote starter is an after market installation. I have a separate transmitter. It was working fine before I bought a new key from Ebay that I programed myself. This new key is working fine.
Since then, the remote starter will work normally only if I leave one of the 3 keys I have near the ignition switch. If I hide this new key near the switch, I have no problem. This was the purpose of this new key anyway: To hide it inside the car in case I lost the other one on the road. Obviously (to me anyway) programming the new key messed up the remote control programming.
Could someone explain to me how to reprogram this remote starter. See if you can find the remote start module to get a name and model # from it. They are usually wired and tied to the steering column or vicinity.

This may explain troubleshooting, reset and reprogramming techniques. A shop trick was to program a key and tie it inside the column near the key ID antenna. Any help is welcome. Unfortunately, that manual says nothing about use with the sentry key system. The remote programming instructions won't help you. What you need is the installation manual, if such a thing can be found. I'm not having much luck with Google. You may need to get help from a shop that installs these units to get help on this one.
