Alright this is kind of an idea / request. If something like this exists please put a link here so I can access it. While playing Skyrim I encountered multiple bugs with Esbern, so I put in the finishquest command. This incorrectly finished the quest and now I can't continue the main story-line at all. It would be lovely if there was a tool that allowed the manipulation of quest progress.

It might offer correct quest completion, along with adding any items/spells/shouts/rewards that will have been directly obtained from doing it. And possibly a drop down that allowed the completion of steps of a quest.

Above all, it would be great if it had a removal of completed quests to help bugged users / allow people to redo quests at a higher level for enjoyment. Again if anyone knows of a way I can fix my dilemma please post so below. Edited by BlackGlasses, 30 May 2012 - 02:23 AM. Go back to a previous save.

There is no save editor for Skyrim. I don't expect one either. Oblivion came out in 06, and there STILL isn't a save editor for that. What an inconsiderate response.

I wonder if you're as thoughtless in your other 2,000 posts? 1.) I've leveled far too much to simply 'go back to a previous save.' I kept playing in spite of my bugged quest. Might as well start over, which I'd rather not do. 2.) A Skyrim save editor already exists I just lacks the abilities I've mentioned above. Glad you increased your post count.

You are being very rude to a person that suggested the only solution to your problem.

Doesn't matter how far you've leveled, you'll have to load an earlier save or start a new game if you don't like the first option. Life's not fair, get used to it. And the 'save editor' you mentioned there is actually a character editor (read the mod's title). It creates a batch file that issues a list of console commands in order to change you stats, (it's written in the mod's description you didn't read). It's no different than using console commands, just simpler since it automatically generates specific commands in the program and adds them to the batch file.

The commands are then issued by running the batch file generated by that program instead of manually writing each command one by one in the game's console. You might want to check the facts before you start being rude to people, you'll avoid embarassing yourself. Edited by Werne, 03 June 2012 - 11:28 PM. What an inconsiderate response. This seems to me like an informational post that includes advice on how you might deal with the issues you are having in your game. As to the issues you are having, if you are good with the CK, you could use lots and lots of console codes to attempt to fix up your game.

You would open up the CK and examine the quests to determine what went wrong and what console codes you could use to fix things. You may need to consult the Creation Kit wiki a lot to get the commands and syntax right. Some of the information on console codes to use might be available on other wikis that are not designed for modders. In some cases, it might be more efficient to build broken savegame patches which are mods that you place late in your load order and only activate when playing the character with the broken savegame. You would examine the broken quests in the CK, see what went wrong, and try to execute the missed code a second or third time or else manually complete or add things.

Like if a quest was supposed to give you an item you need for the next quest, but didn't, you could just place the item on the ground where you can pick it up. Console codes are not as powerful as scripting, so there may be some things you can't do with console codes. This is where a broken savegame patch mod would be the most essential. (But it likely would be easier for you to just back up to an old savegame or abandon your character or start a new one or something.) •. I agree with the idea. I would like a save editor too. With a save scanner, we could see like in an ini or html file: [XXXXX] XXXX=XXXX XXXX=XX This could be modified?

It's only text! For me, who use manual modding (it's bad, I know), this would be REALLY useful to modify the [PLUGINS] section to chosse which esp are included into which save. To prevent having 'Some files are missing. Continue loading?' Each time I load a save. Another exemple. Adult show XXX (ASX).

This mod, updated came from 'ASX-spells.esp' to 'ASX_spells.esp' ==>Problem. With all my consideration, Sayasam •. Go back to a previous save. There is no save editor for Skyrim. I don't expect one either. Oblivion came out in 06, and there STILL isn't a save editor for that.

Glad you increased your post count. You are the thoughtless one for not searching for a solution before posting this thread. Go to, look under the bugs section and READ the solutions, pick one and do it. Alright this is kind of an idea / request. If something like this exists please put a link here so I can access it. I'd have to check out UESP to find out what it is, but there is a quest 'reset button'-like code. Would be nice to have a savegame editor, some mods add scripts to the savegames and after removal scripts remain.

Such an editor would be like the '.BSA' browser because save games seem to be compressed archives. And in those archives there is different data, which in my personal obsservation should be like: Scripts, mods list, that minipicture we see when loading our saves, and some '.txt' or '.ini' files with the settings and locations. About the locations: Cell IDs and their state (objects, like weapons, armors, food, corpses and so on) considering their IDs and coordinates 'X,Y,Z' of each one). And about the settings: Player race, sex, name, face, body and makeup data in nnumbers and filenames/paths, difficulty settings, lists with items we have e. Simatic Prosave V10 Download Yahoo. g 'Iron Dagger (Superior)', 'Ebony Boots (Fine)' and their DMG/armor rating respectively, ID of items and quantity, Quest completed and stages (for which we demand savegame editors so much).

Here is explained a bit about how to transfer from Xbox 360 to PC and vise versa and what saves are if converted to '.dat' file, but it's not easy for us (the common users) to fix our saves and remove those ghost scripts from them. So in conclusion saves must be compressed archives with files and data within and editors must be something like extractors/packers, and with a bit of googling and tutorials we, the users of this hypothetical and awesome tool, will need to read a bit and unpack, fix, pack and enjoy a game without bloated saves. I wish I knew how to create programs and scripts. Hope that gives some insights to those who can program. And sorry if I'm writing a post about a tool, which could exist, (have searched about an editor but found character editor on Nexus, which manipulates only items, skills, levels, but not the data content of a savegame itself).
